You should therefore be conscious of the nutritional value of your breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If you are trying to cut weight, skipping meals is not a healthy option. Instead, look for fat loss recipes that will help you prepare balanced meals, low in fat, yet with enough calories for energy. Cooking styles can also affect the nutritional value of your food. Here are tips for a healthy diet that takes only a few minutes to prepare; that is if you lead a busy lifestyle:

You will mix the almond flour and egg, while heating oil in a skillet. Add half of the mixture into the skillet and let it cook till it browns around the edges. Flip it over and follow same process. Do the same with the remaining half. Make a sandwich with the raspberries and it is ready to serve.

This meal gives you 415 calories, 15.5g of proteins, 29.9g of fats and 13g of carbs.

Lunch for four people

Fried turnips, raisins, apples and bacon

Ingredients: Quarter cup of raisins, cinnamon, coconut oil, stevia, 3 large turnips, 2 slices of bacon sliced, a large tart, two apples (one tart and one sweet, both diced).

Heat the coconut oil for some few seconds in a heavy skillet, and then add thepeeled and diced turnips and the apples simultaneously. Sprinkle some cinnamon to your taste. Cook under cover till the contents soften. Then add bacon and the raisins. Cook till they start turning brown, carefully turning them with a spatula. When completely brown, put off the heat then add stevia to your taste.

This meal, as a whole contains 136 calories, 3g of protein, 17g of carbs and 6g of fat.

Dinner for one

Mediterranean rice

Ingredients: Squeezedhalf lemon, salt/pepper, 1/3 avocado, quarter onion, a small can of tuna, 100g of rice.

Boil the rice for about 20 minutes, and then put it into a bowl. Cut the onions in long strips and add to the rice. Add tuna to the rice after draining oil. Cut the avocado into small pieces and add to the rice. Pour in the lemon juice and add some pepper or salt. Enjoy your meal.

This one contains about 600 calories, 32g proteins, 80g carbs, and 15g fats. All the foods are low in chemical content as they are nit stuffed with manufactured ingredients.

These are well balanced meals that take very few minutes to prepare, considering the busy schedules that most people have. The low intake of fats in all the food can easily burn with a non-constraining workout. These recipes are definitely a better alternative to the fast food choices that lead to fatness and obesity. Hence, you can opt for these healthy diet options.

What is Acid Reflux?

man with heartburn

Acid reflux is a condition in which the stomach contents rises back (refluxes) into the esophagus. Acid reflux occurs due to a fault or dysfunctional valve that separates the esophagus from the stomach. At the entry of stomach, it is guarded by a ring of muscle which is called lower esophageal sphincter (LES). In normal individuals, the valve allows food to enter the stomach and then closes. If the sphincter valve is faulty, stomach contents can easily go up the esophagus causing irritation and burning chest pains (heart burn). Chronic acid reflux into the esophagus leads to gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD).

What are the signs and symptoms of acid reflux disease?

Symptoms of Gastro intestinal reflux disease manifest as a result of irritation of the acidic chime from the stomach. The common symptoms of acid reflux include;

  • Burning chest pains: This is a burning sensation felt originating from the stomach to the lower chest and its due to the acid irritation causing heartburn.
  • Food regurgitation: This is the tendency of bringing swallowed food back in to the mouth
  • Voice hoarseness: This occurs due to irritation of the vocal cords by the acidic reflux
  • Dysphagia and odynophagia: This is difficulty and pain when swallowing foods. This occurs due to inflammation of the lining of the esophagus which is critical in pushing food bolus down (peristalsis)
  • Asthma: Reflux can cause asthmatic symptoms due to the constant irritation in the air passages by the acidic juices.
  • Dental erosion: This occurs in GERD due to chronic reflux of the acidic juice to the mouth. This is commonly observed on the inner side of the maxillary incisors when there is constant contact with the juices.
  • Difficulty in breathing: This is due to seeping of the regurgitated juices in the airways causing irritation and inflammation.
  • Halitosis: A foul smell breath due to the regurgitated substances
  • Nausea and feeling of fullness or bloating

What are the causes of acid reflux disease?

Acid reflux -is technically due to faulty LES valve allowing acidic juices to seep back into esophagus. Too much pressure on the stomach can make the sphincter give way. Some other causes and risk factors of acid reflux disease include;

  • Pregnancy: As the pregnancy progresses to the third trimester the size of the fetus exert pressure on the stomach and can push the contents back up the esophagus. This is relieved by eating smaller meals but it disappears after giving birth.
  • Large meals: Large meals can exert excess back pressure on the LES causing it to give way for the acid reflux. Smaller meals help minimize and solve the problem.
  • Unfavorable body posture after meals: Some body postures after meal can promote pressure on the valve causing a reflux. Some of these postures include bending forward and lying supine after meals.
  • Hiatus hernia: This is a condition where a part of the stomach punches in to the diaphragm and is higher than the valve position. Hiatus hernia causes an automatic reflux due to gravitational pressure. Hiatus hernia is uncommon and can be caused by chronic heavy coughing, vomiting, straining, or pregnancy.
  • Smoking: Tobacco smoking elicits production of acid in the stomach and also weakens the sphincter muscle valve hence a higher risk of acid reflux disease.
  • Certain foods and drinks: Certain foods and drinks can cause acid reflux in people. The common foods include spicy foods, fatty foods, garlic, coffee, tomatoes, vinegar, citrus fruits and alcohol.
As you can see there are many many symptoms and causes for acid reflux, and there are as many treatments for this unfortunate condition. Because this post would really get too long I have made separate posts for 6 Acid Reflux Cures and A 3 Step Natural Acid Reflux Treatment System. If you are interested in acid reflux treatments, I recommend you have a look at both of them, because they have their own differences.

6 Cures For Acid Reflux Which Can Naturally Give Relief

natural acid reflux treatments

Painful is the only word which you will actually use when you are asked to describe how you feel with the acid reflux condition. With an acid reflux, acids and foods are splashed into your esophagus to produce belching, heartburn, and even chest pains, these pains can be so severe that you might think you have a heart attack or other heart diseases.

For more information on What is acid reflux, what are the causes and symptoms, click here!

If this happens frequently, the esophagus can be damaged, hence may lead to scarring, inflammation, hemorrhaging and ulceration. The good thing is that there are cures for acid reflux which will provide you with relief.

Balance Hydrochloric Acid inside Your Stomach

You can prevent acid reflux by achieving a balanced level of the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. In case you are using the ordinary table salt, you should consider investing on high quality sea salt. Sea salt contains chloride and other minerals which will be beneficial to your body.

Review Your Diet

The most important thing you can do is to assess your diet. You should observe if there are foods which you consume on a daily basis which causes or worsens your problem. If you are consuming a lot of sugary or processed foods, then they can be considered as principal culprits. Such foods create bacterial imbalance in your stomach.

Changes in Diet

You may need to make some dietary changes by adding foods which are rich in enzymes since they can prevent as well as eliminate the occurrence of acid reflux. Such enzymes are well known to exist in raw foods which be destroyed if they are subjected it temperature of 116 degrees Fahrenheit while cooking.

There are several enzyme supplements which you could use instead. But you need to stay away from processed foods which might be loaded with excess sugar and salt or other chemicals. Fresh and organic fruits or vegetables are the most important types of foods which you need to eat. You should also consider eating probiotic supplements which can help in balancing your bowel through the use of bacteria.

Intake of Vitamin D

With intake of vitamin D, production of the two hundred antimicrobial peptides inside the body will become optimized. Antimicrobial peptides are very important in fighting against present infection within the body. Direct exposure from sunlight is the easiest way of acquiring vitamin D. However, there are a lot of foods such as eggs and fish which can as well supply your body with this relevant nutrient.

Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe Vera juice can help in treating stomach upsets and other related stomach conditions, bowel, diarrhea and inflammation diseases may as well be treated by Aloe Vera juice. This juice helps to improve digestion while providing relief for acid reflux. If you are feeling that the acid reflux is starting, drink a concoction of 1 ounce of Aloe Vera juice combined with 2 ounces of water.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is important in providing relief for acid reflux. You should combine 1 tablespoon of vinegar with 4 ounces of purified water. Then drink it before you take your meals, this will help to calm your stomach and enhance food digestion.

How to put it all together?

All of these cures can be really helpful on their own, however if you are able to use them in a combination you will get much greater results. If you would like to know how to do that, read my  A 3 Step Natural Acid Reflux Treatment System post.

Tips For A Healthier Cuisine - Lean Cooking

woman cooking healthy

Lean cooking does not necessarily mean you have to cut out every single ingredient you love; moderation and balance are critical in any diet, and therefore the right preparation is also important when you are looking for healthier meal options. When you are trying to lose weight, get fit, or simply maintain a healthy lifestyle for you and the family, these are a few of the things you can do to make simple, yet healthy and effective changes.

Meat, poultry, other beef

If you do consume meat, whether it is steak, fish, poultry, or other sources, keep it lean. Choosing a leaner cut of meat, removing the skin, and the right preparation methods are key. If you do eat beef or meat, look for those with the word round or loin attached to them (sirloin), as they generally have the fat trimmed off, and are generally leaner cuts of meat.

Reduce the extras

When it comes to oil, marinades, sweet sauces, and other add ons, keep them to a minimum. If possible, try to make your own sauces and marinades, rather than purchasing prepackaged ones that are full of sugar and other artificial ingredients.

Stir fry

When it comes to vegetables, stir fry is a great option. You can place them in a pan, wok, or other cooking vessel, and simply blend them with a few herbs and spices. Not only are they tasty, the crisp nature of these vegetables means they retain the nutrients you want to get out of them.

Cook methods

In terms of lean cooking, the right cooking method can go a long way. If you love chicken fried steak, you do not have to eliminate it; instead of deep frying, use alternate cooking methods like pan searing. You can use egg whites and homemade bread crumbs (rather than store bought). By eliminating grease and fatty oils, you can greatly reduce caloric intake. This is not the only dish you can make healthier; when it comes to cooking, choose: roast, sear, broil, bake, as opposed to deep fried or pan fry methods.

You can use oil, but go with olive oil, and try to use extra virgin if possible. Coconut oil is also a great choice; but, even with healthy oils, you have to limit them. Anything, even the best foods, are no longer good for you if you are consuming too much. In lieu of oil, you can also use cooking sprays, or simply use a wok filled with water for broiling certain dishes.

Consume greens, fresh fruits, get rid of processed and refined foods. These are some simple solutions that you can take with you in to the kitchen, when you are trying to make healthier meals. Lean cooking does not mean you have to get rid of things you love, but you do have to keep moderation and balance in mind. And, a few simple changes in the kitchen can go a long way to healthier meals, fewer calories, and healthy changes you want to make.

4 Essential Tips On How To Prepare Fit Meals

prepare healthy food
If you want to lose weight then the first thing that you will need to think about is your meals. By definition, fit meals should make you fit, but it is also more than that. They need to give you certain benefits that your own regular meals cannot. They also need to be more nutritious, more filling and more conducive to your body's metabolism. So having said all of that, here are several tips to help you get started.

Appetite Suppression

The first things that a fit meal should address is your appetite. People who have weight problems also often have problems with their eating habits. Appetite suppression is crucial in preventing as well as addressing weight problems, which is why the conventional 3 meals per day system is not a practical way to get fit.

Instead, consuming 5 to 6 light meals per day is a better way to deal with a demanding appetite than consuming 3 large meals. This is because frequent light meals will trigger your body's metabolism more often, and as a result, will burn up fats and calories more effectively as well. Also, light meals are better suited for people who get hungry in between meals, and therefore, will allow them to more easily control their appetites.

Learn to Cook For Yourself

Although it's not always necessary, learning how to cook can help you put together healthy and fit meals. This is because doing so will allow you to measure the amount of calories and nutrients that enter your body regularly. Measuring the amount of ingredients that you use in your meals will also allow you to better measure the effects of a particular diet or the amount of weight that you lose at a particular period of time.

Choose Your Food Wisely

Next, choose your food wisely. Fit meals aren't always about fruits and vegetables. You can eat just about anything as long as it doesn't have a lot of cholesterol. So don't always believe that a fit meal should consist of you eating things that you're not used to. You just need to be picky about the kinds of things that you eat.

Most people may not know this, but there are actually plenty of healthy foods that taste even better than many kinds of junk food. A few good examples include natural peanut butter, chicken broth, grilled chicken, whole grain tortilla, nuts and low fat yogurt. Consuming meals that consist of healthy alternative foods will allow you to cut down on your body's carbohydrates and will help you become healthier as a result.

The Importance of Nutrition

Finally, a fit meal should be nutritious. It needs to have plenty of vitamins, minerals, Omega 3, protein and anything else your body needs. You've probably heard this a lot of times, but you'll probably hear it again and again. You can't lose weight or have a healthy body if you don't eat all the right types of food, and the right kinds of food consist of those that have plenty of nutritional value.

7 Reasons Low Calorie Diets Simply Don't Work

starving is bad for weight loss
In a book I recently read and am very enthusiastic about (as I told you in my burn the fat, feed the muscle- what an amazing book post) there was an interesting chapter explaining why 95% of all conventional diets fail. Do yourself and your body a big favor and read the entire post- at the end you will be relieved to find out that starving will not get you anywhere near the body of your dreams.

There are quite a few very interesting reasons for that, according to the author Tom Venuto, however, I am just going to synthesize the top 7 reasons why you need to stay away from low calorie diets.

1. A low calorie diet will slow down your metabolism

This happens because your body has the incredible ability to adapt to almost anything. So when you start feeding it with less calories than your daily needs require, it just says "Hey, I better find a way to keep my fats, cause it seems like we are going through some rough times! I better slow that metabolic rate a little!" Your body doesn't know that you are deliberately dieting. What it knows is that it is getting insufficient fuel and in order to survive it will have to start using less fuel.

This explains why most low calorie diets work in the start, but in the long term tend to be useless, and also it explains the so called Yo-Yo effect- while you are dieting you lose some weight, but your metabolism slows down, so when you go back to your old eating habits, you do it with a weaker ability to burn fat- thus you gain again.

2. A low calorie diet will make you lose muscle

This is partially because the more muscle you have, the faster your metabolic rate is, and as I pointed out, your body is trying to decrease this rate. However, there is another reason for the loss of muscle tissue and it is called Gluconeogenesis- the process of converting lean muscle tissue into glucose. This is a way for your body to produce the energy that you have deprived it from, with your low calorie diet. An interesting fact is that it affects all of your muscles including internal organs. And as you probably know- your heart is also a muscle. This means that a low calorie diet will make your heart weaker as well.

3. A low calorie diet will decrease the activity of your fat burning enzymes and increase activity of your fat-storing enzymes

Once again, your body's incredible ways of adapting. Besides slowing down your metabolism and feeding on your muscle tissue, the body also increases the levels of a fat storing enzyme known as Lipoprotein Lipase (LPL). It also decreases the levels of your fat burning enzymes.

4. A low calorie diet will decrease the output of your thyroid hormone

A low calorie diet and starving lead to a lesser production of thyroid hormone, which additionally slows down your metabolism.

Also, studies show that low levels of thyroid hormone can be associated with atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease, which doesn't have much to do with weight loss, but it still shows how harmful a low calorie diet can be.

5. A low calorie diet will increase the chances of rebound weight gain

This is basically what I mentioned in the first point. Once your metabolic rate gets too slow for you to keep losing weight, you will hit a plateau. Now that is really frustrating! After a period of frustration and starvation, people will normally either go back to their previous eating habits or binge. After doing this, it will take a very short period for all of the lost weight to come back, leaving you with the same amounts of fat as when you started (or even more), less muscle tissue, slower metabolic rate, weaker general health and potentially depressed.

6. A low calorie diet will increase your appetite and cravings

Your mind also has a way of responding to low calorie diets. It makes you crave all of those high energy foods you are trying to avoid. And when the mind of a person is really set on something, it is hard to resist, actually most of us can't!

7. A low calorie diet will decrease your energy levels

Energy levels largely depend on your metabolic rate and calorie intake. If both of them are dramatically decreased, the same will happen with your energy. Furthermore, starving will also lead to a lower output of hormones that are critical for your mood and energy. This will not only make you feel lethargic and lousy, but it will hinder your ability to burn fat, which is the proper way to lose weight.

These are the 7 reasons why low calorie diets simply don't work. In fact, a low calorie diet will have you sacrifice your health, energy, metabolism, muscle tissue and much more in order to lose some weight in the short run and get even worse in the long run. Do you really feel that this is a fair deal? I don't!

As I mentioned, I learned this in an amazing book Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle. In the same chapter,  you can read more about this and you can also find 8 great tips to help you stay away from starvation and low calorie diets, and how to lose fat the right way.

Discover The Two Best Ways To Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

girl with stretch marks
If you’re unhappy with your stretch marks, you are certainly not alone. These days, many women suffer from these unsightly imperfections, which may be caused by pregnancy or weight fluctuations. Men may also find that stretch marks appear due to weight loss or gain, or due to the effects of bodybuilding.

No matter why you have stretch marks, you should know that these marks may be minimized or eliminated via the right treatments. While some trial and error may be required in order to make your skin look better, we’ve compiled a few strategies that are likely to give you the results that you want.

Home Remedies for Stretch Marks – Some men and women use natural oils that may be readily available in home kitchens, in order to smooth their skin and alleviate the unattractive appearance of stretch marks.

Some of the most widely used home remedies for stretch marks include Olive oil, Almond oil, Aloe Vera gel and Cocoa butter. Let's have a closer look at all of them.

Almond Oil

It's known to be a great moisturizer, which makes it a preferred oil for people with dry skin. It is also beneficial thanks to the vitamins(A, B1, B2 and E) and minerals it contains. A less known fact is that almond oil is capable of relieving irritations, inflammations and it helps in cell renewal, which makes it great for anti-aging uses.

Applying almond oil twice a day should have a great effect in preventing stretch marks or fading the existing ones- that is if you don't have nut allergies- then you'll be in for some fun...

Olive Oil

Thanks to the high amounts of vitamins A, D, K and E (which are vital for healthy skin and the healing of acne scars and other tissue breakdown), olive oil is effective in preventing stretch marks and fading them. One important note is that in order for the treatment with olive oil to work, you need to buy extra virgin olive oil. Otherwise, the vitamins and antioxidants might be lost during the high temperature refining process. And, of course, olive oil is also a great moisturizer. As with almond oil, you need to massage it on the stretched are two times a day.

Cocoa Butter

As with almond and olive oils, cocoa butter is very beneficial thanks to it's rich content of vitamins (E especially) and antioxidants. However, there is another benefit to it, and a very big one for that matter. Cocoa butter contains a lot of collagen. Collagen is a protein that is essential for your bones, cells, organs and skin tissue. Actually one of the reasons for stretch marks to appear is the break down of collagen beneath the top layer of skin. This makes cocoa butter a great home remedy for this popular skin problem. All you need to do is apply it two times a day and of course make sure you use natural, high quality butter!

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera is commonly used to treat skin inflammations and burns. This is due to the fact that many studies link some of the active compounds in the plant with an increase in the production of fibroblast cells. The rate of production of these cells increases with 6 to 8 times. Why is this good? These so called fibroblast cells have an active role in the creation of collagen in the skin, and we already discussed how beneficial this is. Apply it 1-2 times a day.

All of these home remedies for stretch marks are pretty good on their own, however, if used in a combination between each other and with vitamin E capsules, the results will be even better.

While these cost-effective treatments may work for some people, they do have a downside, as these types of oils are quite greasy and may stain clothes. Therefore, it’s important to let these natural oils absorb before you get dressed.

Commercial Products for Stretch Marks – Sometimes, it’s better to invest in a good, non-greasy serum, which gives superlative results, rather than dealing with the disadvantages of messy oils. If you’d like to find a product that was formulated solely to improve the look of stretch marks, consider ordering your own supply of Skinception Intensive Stretch Mark Formula online.

Developed by Dr. Dave David, this unique and innovative formula offers wonderful skin lightening advantages for an affordable price, and it works without causing any unwanted side effects or symptoms. Because it’s fortified with a potent cocktail of active ingredients, it’s one of the best ways to banish stretch marks over the short term. By boosting collagen production and fading red and purple discolorations, this product offers full-spectrum support that is designed to smooth skin and refine its texture.

Now that you know a couple of strategies for getting rid of ugly stretch marks, you’ll be ready to choose the treatment plan that is really right for you. You may order Skinception Intensive Stretch Mark Formula at the following website:

Discover What Exactley The Famous Paleo Diet Is

the caveman diet
Many of you have probably heard of the Caveman or the Stone age diets, right? These are other names for the Paleo diet. It's called this way because it's based on our stone age ancestor's lifestyle and eating habits. Why would someone live like a caveman? Well according to the Paleo diet proponents, there has never been a fat caveman!

I don't know if that's actually true, but never the less, there is science behind this diet and it does seem to work. So let's have a look at the science behind it, shall we?

The cornerstone of the Paleo diet is the belief that the human race has not adopted to certain foods, which have recently found their way into our lives. This means that we should only eat what our ancestors had at their disposal, mainly- animals, eggs, fish, shellfish, vegetables, herbs, fruits, roots, seeds and tree nuts. And the foods that should be avoided are grains (even whole grains), legumes (I don't recommend avoiding legumes, in fact I believe them to be a superfood!), dairy, potatoes, processed oils, refined sugar and any other food which came into our diet after the development of agriculture.

Now the main argument is not that these foods have a very poor nutritional value, in fact most of them have an amazing value, however, because the human organism isn't fully adopted to digesting them, they cause a cellular inflammation, a flood of bad hormones and a bunch of diseases and conditions including type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases and others. An interesting point is that after the introduction of these foods the rates of obesity have skyrocketed.

human junk food evolution

So if you are wondering how to incorporate the Paleo diet into your everyday life, I have found an example of a Paleo day so to say (fortunately it doesn't include running from a saber tooth!)

  • Breakfast- Scrambled (in olive oil) Omega 3 or free ranging eggs with a fresh fruit and a cup of green tea
  • Snack- A serving of a lean meet (like beef or chicken) and fresh fruits
  • Lunch- Caesar salad with grilled chicken breast and a healthy dressing like olive oil and lemon, and another green tea (green tea is recommended due it's weight loss properties, however, if you don't fancy that much caffeine you can go with a different herbal tea)
  • Snack- Here you can get a serving of fruits and nuts/seeds like apples and raw almonds or chia seeds for example
  • Dinner- In order to keep your sanity, you can include something that wasn't actually available to our ancestors, but you really like and is still at least kind of healthy (this is allowed up to 3 times a week). In our example this will be a glass of wine. So for dinner you will get all of it- veggies, nuts, lean meat and fruits- For the veggies part, you can go with steamed broccoli, tomatoes, carrots and artichoke. For the meats, you can choose from chicken or turkey breast, beef, fish and game. As for the nuts/ seeds, considering you had either almonds or chia seeds as your snack, you can go with raw walnuts now (variety is a must). And for our favorite part- dessert, you can have a bowl of blueberries, strawberries, grapes or raisins.
This is pretty much what I can give you on the Paleo diet at this point, in further posts I promise to go deeper into some of the details. For now I do recommend having a look at a system that could make this much easier, organized and efficient for you.

The system I recommend is PaleoBurn Fat Burner. This program will give you amazing insights into how your body works, how to burn fat the Paleo way and many more amazing lifestyle benefits. If you get the program now you'll actually get 5 things:

  • The PaleoBurn fat burner system
  • PaleoBurn Quick start guide
  • PaleoBurn Foods list
  • PaleoBurn Audio edition
  • PlaeoBurn Fat burning cookbook

But what truly makes this program amazing is not only the great information and support it offers, but the person behind it- Ken Burge. The Paleo diet helped him turn from an obese person, suffering from diabetes to a role model. His story is truly touching and inspiring, that's why I recommend that you visit his website and make sure you have enough time to watch the entire video about his life, the changes he made and how he can help you. It is truly worth your time!

7 Herbs That Cure Erectile Dysfunction

A lot of men suffer from erectile dysfunction which is also known as impotence. It is a condition defined by the inability to achieve and sustain an erection. For more info on the condition itself you can read my Impotence a.k.a. Erectile Dysfunction post. It covers general information about it and also what causes it and how to prevent it.

As I mentioned above, a lot of men suffer from this unfortunate condition, however, in my opinion this is not the biggest problem. I believe that the biggest problem associated with treating impotence is the fact, that drug companies have people believing that they actually need their chemical drugs. For a long, long time now Viagra, Cialis and Levitra have been marketed as your only hope to overcome erectile dysfunction.

Don't get me wrong, they are effective. But are they the only true way? Absolutely no! The same effect can be achieved with a combination of herbs or even by a single herb on it's own. The only difference is that it will happen in a natural way, without the harmful side effects. And talking about side effects- Vigaria, Levitra and Cialis have been linked to a variety of devastating and even fatal side effects like strokes, heart attacks, blindness and sudden deaths.

So what are these amazing gifts from nature that can help you overcome erectile dysfunction

Without further ado I give you my list of 7 herbs that can easily cure impotence

Saw Palmetto Berry

This herb treats erectile dysfunction in two ways. First, it improves prostate health, which is of key importance for the proper function of your sexual organs. Second, it balances hormonal levels by inhibiting androgen. Another benefit is that it prevents testosterone from turning in to DHT. This means that you will have higher levels of testosterone and lower levels of DHT, a hormone that leads to hair loss. This means that saw palmetto will also prevent hair loss!

You can read a clinical study about treating erectile dysfunction with saw palmetto here

ginkgo biloba

Muira Puama Bark Extract

Studies show that this plant extract can be used to treat both impotence and lack of sexual desire. The main way it cures impotence is by improving the blood flow to both the penis and the genitals. The increase of blood in the letter may lead to an increase  in testosterone production. From the results of different studies, it is evident that these are not the only ways it helps men with impotence, however, researchers are not able to find exactly what else contributes to this.

Catuaba Bark Extract

This herb is believed to be able to increase the capacity of your penis to hold blood. This will not only promote erections, but they will be much firmer than normally and the actual size of the penis will increase notably. Another way this herb works is by increasing the levels of a specific sexual hormone responsible not only for arousal, but also for orgasm length. This means that Catauba bark extrac can treat erectile dysfunction, increase your penis size and help you reach a longer and better orgasm.

Thanks to some of the flavanoids (essential oils) found in Damiana, it is able to increase to blood flow to the penis, which as we mentioned a few time, is what makes a firm erection.

These 7 herbs are all you need to cure your erectile dysfunction and even add to your penis size, orgasms and general health. Forget about the harmful synthetic drugs like viagra and their deadly side effects. The answer is once again in nature!

Out of all the ways to get these herbs, perhaps the safest and most convenient way is through supplements. You can find each of those herbs in separate supplements or you can find them in a combination in the same supplement. And the second option is exactly what I recommend. Combinations of herbs have been proved time and time again to be more efficient, than taking the same amount of a single herb.

I know that looking for supplements can be a long and confusing process, thats why in most of my posts I  try to recommend a product I have researched and really trust. This time it is no exception, if you have read any of my other posts on erectile dysfunction, you would know that I strongly recommend VigRX Plus as a natural way to treat your proble. It is supirior to other herbal supplements, because it has a patented ingredient named Bioperine, which has shown to safely improve the absorptions of nutrients by up to 30%. This means that the herbs you just read about will be with up to 30% more efficient in this supplement.

The benefits that VigRX has proven to supply, besides treating erectile dysfunction, include:

  • Overall Improvement in Sexual Health
  • Increased Erection Size in Both Width & Length
  • Strengthening & Toning Effect on the Sexual Glands
  • Increase in Blood Circulation to the Genitals
  • Support of the Health Production of Sex Hormones
  • Treatment of Stressor & Anxiety (adaptogens) with Restorative Nutrients for the Nervous System
  • Increased Stamina & Sex Drive Through Increased Cardiovascular Power & Improved Circulation

And the fact that it has a 67 days 100% money back guarantee doesn't hurt, right? Hopefully you are not going to need it, but its still good to know its there.

Natural Acid Reflux Treatment

acid reflux system
If you are reading this I assume you are one of the millions of people worldwide, who are suffering from acid reflux, but want to stay away from harmful treatments like antacids, prokinetics and others.

If my assumption is correct, please keep reading, and if not- don't waste your time, because, in this post we will only discuss natural acid reflux remedies.

Acid reflux is a condition that is characterized with stomach acids rising up to the esophagus. This is due to improper functioning of the lower esophagus sphincter, which normally shouldn't let acids reach your esophagus. When this happens you feel a burning chest pain.

If you would like some more information on what exactley is acid reflux, what causes it and what are it's symptoms, click here!

As I mentioned in the beginning, there are many treatments for acid reflux, but most of them have negative side effects. Instead, we are going to discuss a three way natural approach for curing this condition and improving your digestive health. This three way approach consists of natural ways for controlling acids, renewal of your digestive enzymes and creating a long term digestive health. Let's look at how nature can aid us in our approach, shall we?

Acid Control

In this step we will be looking for a way to protect your esophagus from your stomach's hydrochloric acids and also reduce the amounts of acids produced by your stomach. This can be done by using natural cures known for their ability to reduce inflammation, heal the tissue, decrease acidity levels and improve digestive function. There are four herbs that we can distinguish as the most potent ones in this department.

  • Aloe Vera-This plant is best known for it's ability to heal burns, inflammations and skin problems. However, not many people know that it is also excellent for promoting digestive health by reducing the amount of  a harmful bacteria in the digestive tract, inhibits the secretion of stomach acids and many other benefits.
  • Marshmallow Root- It reduces inflammation and when mixed with water, forms a gel that coats the throat and stomach. It has been used to heal acid reflux and ulcers for decades.
  • Licorice Root- Another herb known to heal the tissue. It is also used to cure ulcers and canker sores
  • Slippery Elm-Not only used to sooth the skin and protect form inflammation, but also known to reduce acidity.

Restoring The Balance Of Your Digestive Enzymes

In this step we will try to restore the crucial balance of digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acids. This balance is in fact the key to reducing the amount of acids in your stomach and also treating acid reflux from it's roots. The less digestive enzymes you have, the more acids will reach your esophagus. These enzymes are indeed very natural, however most of them occur in the human body. This means that we can't supply them through herbs and other plants (excluding Papin, Beta Glucanase and Alpha-Galactosidase ). Instead you need to look at a natural supplement that will provide a variety of these enzymes. I will just mention some of the key enzymes you need to look for- Glucoamylase (extracted from Aspergillus niger), Hemicellulase, Beta Glucanase (extracted from grains) , Maltase, Papain ( it is derived by papaya), Protease, Lipase, Cellulase, Invertase, Alpha-Galactosidase (also extracted from Aspergillus niger ) and Amylase. These enzymes have the function of breaking down different nutritional elements, detoxify, heal different digestive problems, supply energy, relieve allergies and infections. You can have a look at a great supplement that will provide all of the important enzymes in a natural way here.

Improving Long-Term Digestive Health

The third step is associated with the fact that people who suffer from acid reflux normally have other digestive problems like gas, improper nutrient absorption, diarrhea and others. These digestive problems will partially be treated with the supplementation of enzymes, however, we will still have a look at certain foods that will help you provide the necessary nutrients. These nutrients include a high amount of fiber, healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. This means that you should include super foods in your diet. Some of the superfoods are Chia seeds, Barley grass, Quinoa, Brocoli, Yogurt, Beans, Nuts, Avocado, Acai berries, African mango and others.

These foods are generally very beneficial and healthy, however, you also need to provide foods that specifically treat digestive problems. These foods include:
  • Papaya- this fruit contains the Papin enzyme which helps the stomach to break down and absorb nutrients. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Fennel seed- it is known to help relieve digestion problems like gas, acid indigestion, cramps and more.
  • Grapefruit- it contains pectin, popular for its abilities to relieve diarrhea and constipation.
  • Psyllium husk- used as a laxative and stool softener, it is also used to treat IBS, diarrhea and others.
  • Peppermint leafs- they stop the growth of harmful bacteria, help the bile reach the gallbladder, relaxes intestinal muscles and improves digestion of nutrients.
Using this three way natural approach for treating acid reflux will cover all your bases. It will not only treat acid reflux, it will help you improve you digestive and general health.

I also recommend having a look at Dr. Jeff Martin's acid reflux elimination system "Heartburn No More". Dr. Martin is a medical researcher, nutritionist and a person who defeated his own acid reflux. He was so frustrated with his own condition, that he dedicated all of his time to find the cure. This lead him to a highly efficient treatment that helps patients forget about acid reflux in only a month.

5 Amazing Herbs That Safely Cure Insomnia

Are you suffering from sleeplessness? Don't worry! Nature has a way to cure insomnia ready for you!

Insomnia is a sleeping disorder that is classified with problems falling asleep, staying asleep or getting to a state of deep sleep. The third problem is a very important and deceptive one. Many people believe that they don't suffer from insomnia, only because they have no problems falling asleep. However, they don't realize that even if they are sleeping 8 hours, if they don't reach the deep state of sleep, needed to replenish your body, mind and spirit, then they do suffer from insomnia!

woman cant sleep

After I made this clear I would like to briefly explain what are the symptoms of insomnia, what causes sleeplessness and the ways it damages your life

So how do you know if you are suffering from insomnia? Here are the main symptoms

  • As I mentioned earlier having difficulty falling and remaining a sleep are the two most common symptoms
  • Reaching a deep state of sleep is also a symptom of insomnia. The way you recognize you have this problem is by noticing any of the following symptoms of sleeping disorder, without actually having trouble falling and remaining asleep
  • Other symptoms include being tired upon waking, bad mood, lack of appetite, low energy, catching flues easily, being unable to concentrate, constant headaches, lack of desire to do anything and so forth.
As you can see sleeplessness affects almost every part of your life. This is because sleeping is one of the most important and beneficial functions of our body. This is the time when your body and mind recover from your daily activities and you produce hormones that are of key importance for good health.

So now that we know the symptoms, lets have a look at how insomnia can damage your life if left untreated
  • First off, this condition can have a devastating effect on your social and love life. This can happen because it leads to depression and bad mood, and also, because it affects your energy and desire to do any social activities. Who wants to be around a person like that?
  • Second, it can lead to severe health issues. Insomnia causes cancer, diabetes, heart disease and obesity. This is caused by a variety of reasons that include the hormonal disbalances that occur when people don't get enough sleep. They lead to a weak immune system, impaired cell recovery and detoxification processes, inability for the body to control it's blood sugar levels, binging (especially on sweets). You can probably see how everything is connected and one thing leads to another, for example- uncontrolled blood sugar levels lead to binging which leads to obesity, cardiovascular health problems and diabetes.
Okay, enough introduction, let's get to the reason you came to this post- What are the 5 herbs that can cure insomnia?

valerian root
image of Valerian root

Valerian root

This post is getting too long already so I will not go into detail about the herbs. Instead I will only let you know about the ways they benefit your sleep. So the first one in the list is the Valerian root. It is a prefered way to treat insomnia because you are not going to get addicted to it and you won't feel hungover the next morning. The way it helps is by calming the brain and nervous system. This happens thanks to compounds known as valepotriates, which affect your brain's GABA recpetors. When these receptors are exposed to a larger number of GABA they tend to sedate the nervous system.

Passion flower

This herb works in a similar fashion as Valerian root. It sedates the nervous system thanks to gamma-aminobutyric acid or GABA. Also this herb is great for a combination with the other herbs in this list, because it is also known to be a MAO-inhibitor,this makes it a great potentiator of other psychoactive herbs and it notably increases and prolongs their effects. An important note I should make here is that there is a number of types of passion flower out there. The one you need is Passiflora incarnate. The other types may be dangerous.

image of Hops

Studies show that thanks to the agent known as lupulin hops has a calming effect and helps put your mind and nervous system at ease. Studies also show the combination of hops and other sedative herbs like Valerian root increases the effect of both herbs dramatically.

This herb is also among the best known sleep aids for years. It's sedative effect is caused by Chrysing, Glycine and Apigenin. Three compounds that calm the muscles and the nervous system, thus allowing you to fall a sleep easier.

lemon balm

Lemon Balm

This wonderful herb has a great combination of sedative chemicals that include terpenes, geraniol, citral, citronellal, and citronellol. This is yet another example of a herb, whose effects multiply when used in a combination with other sedative herbs.

Because these herbs are most powerful when used in combination, this is exactly how I advise you to treat your sleeplessness. You can do this by getting all of them separately and than combining them into a bouquet for a relaxing cup of tea. However, this is a little complicated, because you need to keep in mind the recommended dosages of all of the herbs.

The approach I would recommend you is through Alteril. It is a great system consisting of three things

  • a natural supplement that has all of those herbs and a number of natural compounds like Melatonin, L-Theanine and L-Tryptophan, which are proven to be even better in curing insomnia.
  • Serene soothing tea blend that contains Chamomile, Lavender, Spearmint, Lemon Verbena, and Linden. Some more herbs that are known for their relaxing properties.
  • A Binaural Beat CD- which will help you reach a state of meditative relaxation through low frequency beats.

I hope this information will be able to help you overcome this condition and really improve your life. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment or send me an e-mail at

10 Plant Extracts That Cure Cellulite

woman with no cellulite
Once again the best cures for any condition are found in mother nature. This time it is the nasty and hated cellulite. This condition has had a devastating effect on the social life of too many people. It is characterized by the small dents on the skin of the legs, butt, belly, arms and other body parts. These small dents have also earned it the name orange skin and  the reputation of one of beauty's biggest enemies.

What is Cellulite and What Causes It

So how exactly does mother nature help us overcome this condition? Well, I am glad you asked. She gives as a variety of plants that are able to fight it off for good, you just have to know where to look. So without further ado, here is the list of 10 plant extracts that cure cellulite and help your skin be at it's best:

Caffeine extract

We have already discussed how caffeine extract can erase cellulite in a previous post, but let's refresh our memory.

Rubbing caffeine onto the areas affected by cellulite will help in two major ways. First it stimulates the blood flow into the area which helps the blood to flush away the toxins and supply fresh nutrients. Second it stimulates the metabolic processes. If you have some of my other posts, you should know that metabolism is a natural process of creating energy by burning fats. By reducing the amount of toxins and fat in the area you will make a big step towards a cellulite free future.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea extract has very much the same features of caffeine extract. This is mostly because of the fact that green tea itself contains caffeine.  So instead of going over the same benefits again, let's just move to the next extract.

Horstail Extract

Horstail extract helps reduce the appearance of cellulite by providing a trace mineral that is essential for your skin. This mineral is called silica. It is known to benefit skin elasticity, it's healing process and the reduction of cellulite. After getting this nutrient your skin will be much firmer.

Algae Extract

Algea extract is known for many health benefits, but the ones that help cure cellulite are once again increased blood circulation, detoxification, increased cardiovascular health, increased fat burning and anti-inflammatory properties. According to some sources, one of the main reasons for cellulite is inflammation, so the last benefit is also very crucial.

Gotu Kola Extract

This herb has showed the amazing benefit of increasing the collagen synthesis. Collagen is extremely important for your skin. It is actually the main component of your connective tissue. A decrease of this component can lead to cellulite, which makes its synthesis very important to you. Other benefits of Gotu Kola are the previously mentioned detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties.

Capsicum extract

Capsicum extract is also used to promote blood circulation and an increase in the metabolism of fats. I guess I forgot to mention that the build up of toxins is one of the main reasons behind cellulite. You can understand why a better blood circulation and detoxification is crucial and why most of the extracts in my list have this in common.

Fennel Extract

This herb extract is helpful primarily thanks to it's detox abilities and high amount of minerals and vitamins that are essential for your skin's health.

 Aloe Vera Extract

It is known to reduce inflammation and promote healthy skin. Inflammation is not only a cause for cellulite, but can also lead to long term skin damage. This makes Aleo vera extract very important.

ginkgo biloba

Ginkgo Biloba Extract

Ginkgo strengthens the veins which helps blood circulation, stimulate detoxification and improves fat metabolism.

Grapeseed Extract

It Is known for improving cardiovascular health and inhibiting the two enzymes that harm connective tissue- collagenase and elastase. It is also a great anti-oxidant that promotes detox.

These are the 10 plant extracts that cure cellulite, I tried to keep it short and to the point so reading this post doesn't consume too much of your time.

What you can do to get those plants to work for you is to find a cream that contains them and apply them on the affected area. You probably think that for some of them you can find an oral version as opposed to a topical cream, however, if you really want to cure cellulite you better use a cream. This way they will reach the desired area in a much much more concentrated form. There are a variety of creams, based on those extracts. My advice is to find one that contains all of them, instead of focusing on a single herb type of cream. Most of them show much greater results in a combination.

The cream that I would recommend is Revitol Cellulite Solution. It contains all of these and many other great ingredients like Shae butter, Retinol A, Horse chestnut and others. This formula aims in not only removing cellulite, but also helping the skin recover and get back to it's natural beauty. Just like nature intended it to be. They also have some pretty good deals, when buying more than one tube. For more info on Revitol, click here to read my review!

As I told you, I tried to keep the post to the point so if you still have some questions left unanswered don't hesitate to send me an email at or leave a comment.
