Fall is the time of year in which your body is readjusting it self from the summer heats to the winter colds.Sometimes its easy,other times its hard.In the first case your organism is more ready for the winter,in the second you are more vulnerable to the diseases of the cold season.Also during fall can activate some chronic conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, the kidneys,the urinogenital system and even the heart.

It is also possible for fall to provoke mental disorders like depression.

2 Of The Easiest Ways To Fight Nail Fungus

You have fungus on the nails of your feet or hands?

Unfortunately this is a common diagnosis. Around 15% of the people in my country (Bulgaria) have it. The nail fungus is very persistent and can very fast spread on the skin which makes the timely treatment very important.

Where do we get infected

Fungus are everywhere in our daily encirclement, but mostly in warm and moisty
places like the sauna or the showers. Usually the healthy nail is not easily infected. There should be certain factors:
  • Wounding on the nail or the skin around it.
  • Active sporting that leads to nail traumas.
  • Usage of unaired, tight shoes or gloves(rubber boots, rubber gloves or sport shoes).
  • Activities in a moisty surrounding.
  • Bad blood circulation, which leads to low blood supplies to the hands and feet.
  • Slow nail growth(for older people).

There are a couple of herbs that can do the trick like Tea tree, garlic, lemongrass and oregano ( see my post about the top 5 herbal nail fungus herbal treatments here )  but the cheapest, fastest and easiest way to remove nail fungus I know is povidone iodine. This is a medicine used to kill microorganisms without harming the human cells.

So how do I use this medicine?

Scratch the surface of your nail with an emery board that you will use only for this purpose, and dab it with the Povidone iodine, then smear some nail polish on it. That's all, do it for 3-4 days and you will see and feel the effect.

Fitness:Abs-movement amplitude

Many beginner and even experienced body builders often ask the question:What should be the amplitude of my crunches?And thats a very good question,when making stomach exercises there should be a border for your movement both going down and up.Otherwise the effect could be a injury,pressure other muscles and less effect on your abs.You are seeking for the answer of this question two?Than read my friend!

The upper border is reached when the body is about 30 degrees from the floor, if you go over it you will include the muscles of your pelvis. When you are doing crunches you should be pulling your lower chest to your pelvis-imagine you want to touch your pelvis with your lower chest. The movement in the back and the chest should be as low as possible, it will be even more you can isolate them at all.

This amplitude is valid for all exercises which start with legs,pelvis and chest in one line.

When going down you should stop right before your shoulders hit the floor. If you dont you will give your abs a rest.Maybe you know that the abs are adjusted to repeating contractions trough put the day so if you want to make them grow you should exhaust them far more then that they are use to. Also the abs are muscles that recovers very fast which makes even a little rest crucial to your abs building failure.

But if you start to feel pain in your back ,let the erectors of your spine rest-just lie on the floor.
The erectors are the muscles that with the abs form a belt around your spine and keep it straight. They are pressured when lowering from the crunch.

In crunches you should do everything under control. Make the movement amplitude short and clean and make sure you pressure the rectus abdominis. For maximum results make the crunches slowly,controlled and with no rest. Only that way they will have total effect on your abs.

6 misunderstantings about food related to diabetes

Are there any "myths" about food that you should know if you suffer from diabetes? Is really everything we hear the truth?

Yes there are myths and no there are many misguides about these kinds of food. Here are 6 of them:

wholemeal bread
Wholemeal bread raises the level of blood sugar less than normal bread

Both raise it equally!

Sour green apples raise the level of blood sugar less than yellow and red apples

The sugar content of an apple is not defined by its color, but from the size. Another very common misunderstanding...

The soaked in water potatoes dont raise the level of blood sugar because the starch is removed

By soaking the potatoes in water you don't remove almost any of the starch, so eat less potatoes and more vegetables !

carrots and beetroots

Sweet vegetables like carrots and beetroot should be expelled from your diet

On the contrary! The sugar from them is hard to digest, but they contain a big amount of fibers. That's why they dont raise the blood sugar.

Buckwheat porridge lowers the level of blood sugar.

There is no food that can lower it. There are only foods that don't raise it. The buckwheat raises blood sugar levels no less than the rice.

Honey dosent raise the level of blood sugar because half of it is fructose

The sugar is a refine of what honey is made from,so honey raises the blood sugar as much as sugar does.

Having corns? 4 recpies for removing it!

Having corns is a very uncomfortable problem. It could really make hurt your self esteem by not allowing you to walk normally. Here are 4 natural recipes that don't contain any expensive solutions. If nature can help there is no point in wasting hard earned cash right?

So without any delay, after all I dont want to waste your time, I give you the 4 recipes for removing corns:

Plantin a.k.a Plantago major

Put on the corn a leaf from plantin and tie it with plaster or some bandage, leave it like that for the night and if the morning you are not corn free make a new one and stay with it during the day if it is possible.
This is a very effective recipe cause the plantin has anti-inflammatory and strengthening effect.

Lemon rind and hot water

To remove an old and nasty corn you have to soak your feet in hot water before you go to bed and patch some lemon rind to the corn.
In the morning take it off and in the evening put it on again. Do it for 3-4 days and then soak your feet in hot water and salt again and remove the corn with disinfected scissors, pumice or pedicure brush.
Don't follow the recipe blindly if the skin is soft enogh you can remove the corn earlier.

Camomile and sodium bicarbonate bath

Another way to heal old corns is to soak your feet in warm (not hot!) water with camomile and sodium bicarbonate for 20-25 min. The sodium's effect is to soften the skin and the camomile's is anti-inflammatory. If the corn is young you can make the bath only with camomile.

And the last recipe and maybe most effective but uncomfortable is :

Onion and vinegar

Cut 1 onion head in half and pour vinegar on it. Then leave it in a warm place for 24 hours. After those 24 hours take the onion and rub the corn, just a little should be enough. Do it twice a day-morning and evening.
The vinegar that you soak the onion in opens the corn and restores the skin. Also the onion contains biologically active substances that destroy the morbific organisms and lessens the inflammatory of the feet caused by the corn. But why do I recommend it in last place?
The onion causes very unpleasant pinching and the smell is well...awful.

Vitamin Table:Vitamin D

The only vitamin that is not obtained by food is vitamin D, instead it is obtained by sun light.The amount of time you need to have your skin in exposure to sun light, to receive the recommended daily dose is actually just a few minutes so there isn't any big risk of vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D`s functions relate to the immune system and the control of the amount of calcium absorbed from the food.

Calcium control
The most important function of the vitamin D is to help control how much calcium is absorbed from food. The majority of the calcium is used to build strong teeth and bones but it is also needed to send messages along the nerves and to help muscles, such as the heart muscles, to contract. It is the vitamin D that ensures that there is always sufficient calcium in the blood to perform these tasks.

Immune system relatedVitamin D deficiency is related with cardiovascular disease, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and type 1 diabetes mellitus. It is also believed that that vitamin D is also a contributing factor in reducing the risk of contracting cancer and, in particular, colon cancer.

Vitamin D3 or cholecalciferol
The variant of the vitamin D that is formed under the skin is known as vitamin D3, or cholecalciferol. This vitamin D is created when the ultraviolet in the sunlight reacts with a type of cholesterol that is found under the skin naturally. The D3 is converted into a more active form of the d vitamin in the liver and is then diverted to where it is needed the most. Some of the vitamin D remains in the liver and kidneys to help reabsorb the calcium from the blood. The rest of the vitamin D is dispersed to the bones to help them retain their calcium and the intestines to aid absorption of calcium from food.

Vitamin D2 or ergocalciferol
I said that the vitamin D is formed from the sunlight exposure of the skin and not obtained by food , but there is one form that you can find in food and it is vitamin d2 or ergocalciferol. It is found in milk, yogurt, margarine, oil spreads, breakfast cereal, pastries and bread. This is used in the same way as the other D vitamins and is the type used to create the majority of D vitamin supplements.

The apple diet is know to medicine from ancient times. It is effective when suffering from chronic enterocolitis, chronic colitis in phase of sharpening, during digestive tract upset and cold.

Apple compote
It is good for liver, kidney and heart diseases. If made with no sugar it is used when suffering from  diabetes and obesity .

Leaf tea
It is good during early inflammation process of the digestive tract, ulcers and high blood pressure.

Apple juice
If taken before you eat, it helps deal with constipation. If you add briar it becomes a dietary and vitaminous drink. It is prepared from:
  1. 4-5 sour apples
  2. 3-4 table spoons briar
  3. 3-4 table spoons sugar or honey
  4. lemon or orange rind
  5. citric acid

Cut the apples and brair to little pieces, pour hot water on them and leave them with it for a couple of minutes. Then take them out of the water add the sugar or honey, the rind and the acid.

In my opinion those are the best ways you can use apples to help to improve your general health.

Fitness:Making your first steps

So far in this blog we have talked about some very important issues like warming up and how long you should rest , assuming you are already somewhat experienced.But I have completely forgotten about those of you who are yet to start building muscle or power .So guess its time to give you some attention two right?

OK this is a fitness schedule made for total newbies it includes exercise for every muscle group. And dont forget use the gym instructor.
Training days:
  1. Monday-Train
  2. Tuesday-Rest
  3. Wednesday-Train
  4. Thursday-Rest
  5. Friday-Train
  6. Saturday-Rest
  7. Sunday-Rest
This is what you do in your sessions:

First of all WARM UP using the tips I have provided you in with in my post about warming up.
In short:

Make aerobics and cardio until you break some sweat than before you start to do every exercise with your maximum weights do 2 sets with 60 and 80% of the weights and more reps.
  1. Lat pull down machine-3x15
  2. Lateral raises-3x12
  3. Machine compound row-3x15
  4. Machine rear delt-3x12
  5. Triceps extension machine-2x15
  6. Leg curls-3x25
  7. Leg extension-3x25
Work out like that 3 times a week 6 weeks.Focus on the technique and letting your body adjust to the pressure.

Water and its effect on the human body:Drinking water during workouts

Its of key importance to keep your body well hydrated during training,even if you are like me and dont get thirsty during your workouts you should aways have a bottle of water with you and while you are resting between sets take a small gulp.Not doing that will strongly decrease the effect of your training,it will make the exercise harder and could lead to serious injuries.Thats because the water helps the protection of internal organs,lubricates the the joints,regulates the body temperature and helps the muscles receive the needed nutrition.

But there is also another side of this coin.If you drink too much water you can harm you self.Which could result in death!This condition is called hyponatremia,the kidneys cant process the water and the sodium concentration in the plasma falls below 135mmol/L.Typical symptoms are nausea , vomiting , headache and malaise .As it worses you become confused , dizzy ,your reflexes are slower .

So be careful!It is important to drink water during your work out sessions but if you do it the right way,step-by-step as i told you drink a gulp or two during your rest between sets that should be enough to help you body without risking the hyponatremia.

But red hot chili pepper is also creating mucus and can irritate the mucous of the digestive tract.So i dont recommend continued usage.

Fitness:How long should i rest between my sets?

Many pro body builders and fitness gurus describe their training day in big details but all of them dont speak about one thing.A thing that is very underestimated.That thing is how long should you rest between your sets.The truth is that the amount of rest between sets has a huge effect on the results of your training.

Its almost impossible to reach your full potential in both body building and power lifting at the same time.So assuming you already know in which direction you are headed i will speak about them in parallel so to say.

Power Lifting
You have to rest from 2 to 10 min.
One of the most extreme examples for power lifters is Paul Anderson.His rest was around 30 min after his sets.This way of training allowed Paul to gain 50 kilos on his massive figure and also to become the world and olympic champ in weight lifting.But you have to know that besides that he gained also a big amount of fats that dosent matter in weight lifting but surely will not make your body beautiful .In conclusion power lifter's rest should not be less than 2 mins and should not make sessions longer than 30 sec.

Body Building
You have to rest from 20 to 100 sec.
A experiment has been made with 4 groups,using programs with standard exercises .
These are their programs:
1.5 reps with 1 min rest.
2.5 reps with 3 min rest.
3.10 reps with 1 min rest.
4.10 reps with 3 min rest.

The research showed that only the third group(10 reps 1 min rest)had its level of growth hormone raised and its muscle tissue has grown.So in conclusion if your goal is big muscle with as little fat as it can you better forget about huge weights and long rest.Thats one of the ironies of fitness-lesser weights will make you look stronger.

Im going to call the following exercises test ,but you better call them experiments.All of them are design to lead your subject in to a state ready for hypnosis .

Test of the imaginationTell the subject to stand with his/her feet together and arms outstretched toward you with hands extended and palms facing downward. The subject's arms should be parallel with each other. Tell the subject to look at his outstretched arms and make sure that they are parallel and absolutely level with each other.

What you say next?

Next, cue the subject by telling her, close your eyes down tight....shutting out the light. I am going to count from three down to one. When I reach one, I want you to picture that a heavy weight is tied to your right hand, drawing it down toward the floor.


Picture a heavy weight tied to your right hand, drawing it down toward the floor. It gets heavier and heavier and is pulling your hand down toward the floor.If your subjects right hand dosent move down do it again, and again until it dose.

What you say next?

Now I want you to picture a balloon filled with helium gas tied to your left wrist, pullingit high up in the air. Your left hand and arm are being pulled up higher and higher up in the air. Your right wrist pulling down...down...down toward the floor and your left wrist lighter...and lighter being pulled up, up, up in the air.
Now open your eyes, and look at your arms!
Thats it you probably get the picture,left arm up right arm down.Keep doing it until you succeed.

Now ask if your subject would want another experiment.

Hypnosis and Balance
For this experiment or test, I want you to again have your subject standing facing you.Tell him to put his feet together and stand straight up. Tell him to close his eyes and tilt his head back as if he were looking up at the ceiling.He should be standing straight with his head tilted back and eyes closed but pointed toward the ceiling.

What you say next?

I want you to imagine that you can look through your closed eyes and visualize a spot on the ceiling above. Imagine that you are staring at that spot. As you are staring at that spot I want you to breathe deeply and relax as you did in the last exercise. You will begin to feel an urge to start swaying back and forth. You begin to start swaying back and forth. I will be here to catch you if you fall too far backward. You begin to sway back ward into my arms. You are falling back, falling back, and falling backward into my arms.
Do it until your subject falls in your arms.

Those are the pre-hypnosis experiments that you have to do before you actually begin the act of hypnotizing.And about the act i will soon post the real deal.
